Environmental Awareness
Global Issue: Major world changes such as population growth, global warming, and pollution are having an impact on the environment by adversely impacting the quality and quantity of the vital natural resources that we share. We have the responsibility to protect our natural resources so that they will sustain civilization for future generations. Failure to address these issues can have dire consequences. For example, without a strategy for conservation, there will be insufficient fresh water to meet the world's population by the year 2025. And water and land management are interrelated. Many communities within developing countries typically lack an awareness and understanding of the consequences of pollution, soil depletion and erosion, and the economic and environmental benefits of recycling.
We are committed to:
- Collaborating with local officials to develop and promote programs to encourage and reward individuals for cleaning up local environments such as beaches, promoting fuel efficiency, conserving soil through tree replanting and crop rotation, and recycling.
- Providing technical expertise to apply up-to-date systems for environmental safeguards in areas such as: resource conservation; water and irrigation management; pollution prevention including both low level and high level wastes; GIS technology to provide, for example, satellite landscape images on UNESCO preserved forests located worldwide, and; the application of ISO 14001 technology to measure the hazardous component materials used in the production of tangible hard assets in manufacturing plants.
